Simply Music is a revolutionary programme developed in Australia and is now the largest playing-based music education institute in the world. The main difference from traditional programmes is that we temporarily delay music reading, so that students can experience playing and improvising first, become "well acquainted" with the piano and feel great. In essence, the method consists of playing-based tools that are easy to understand when seen and played. Students of all ages start playing great- sounding contemporary, blues, and classical music with both hands from the very first lessons! Learn more about this amazing method here http://simplymusicpiano.com/
We treat learning how to play the piano in the same we learn our first language. We learn to speak before we learn to read and write. Similarly, we teach students to play the piano before we teach music notation. By the time we teach reading music, students are already comfortable at the keyboard, with a solid foundation of 30-50 pieces of music across different styles acquired after the first 12-18 months of lessons. We will be your teacher (or - coaches!) for one lesson per week (that's all you need!), where we'll check you progress and explain new material for your development. You will be given student materials including videos of what’s covered during the lesson (so that you can refer to the lesson as often as you like) and audio recordings of the music you're learning.
Your commitment is to attend one lesson per week and train for 20 minutes
six days a week (lesson time isn't included and you can choose one day off)
practising what you've learnt during the lesson and using videos from
the student materials to reinforce your understanding. Most importantly, enjoy yourself and
You will feel and hear results after only a few lessons and continue to do so throughout the whole experience!
If you or your child wants to play the piano right away, feel great about it, lay the foundation for developing your or your child's musicianship, be in a place where you can just sit and play contemporary, blues, classical, gospel and accompaniment pieces, improvise and compose, and make music a lifelong companion, then we are the perfect teachers for you!
We teach primarily in groups but some private lessons are available. Private lessons are $45 per lesson (30 min), shared lessons are $350 per term (one per week with 10 lessons in one term), group lessons are generally 40-50 minutes long. The Simply Music method has fantastic results in a group environment. Advantages include: it's cheaper, you become comfortable playing in front of others, you learn faster by observing what others are doing, you make new friends and it's more fun!
It is $35 per level of development for student home materials (SHM) once every 3 to 6 months, depending on your pace of learning. This is one of the best parts of Simply Music. You get to take video lessons with you wherever you go and watch as often as you need to really "fly" with the lesson's material. All you need is online access. That's why one lesson per week is enough to have a tremendous progress =)
What you get in return is just incredible! The results are amazing and they will
speak for themselves! From the
first lessons you start to play the piano with both hands.
In just a few months you'll be playing about ten great-sounding pieces (contemporary,
classical, gospel, blues). You'll be able to improvise and accompany yourself or others on the piano.
While traditional learning is usually hard and takes at least two lessons per week (where one should
for good results, here you need only one and just 20 minutes of training most days of the week.
So you'll end up saving money and time. Most of all, you'll feel at ease and you'll
about yourself because of your own achievements!
Take a look at one of the kids recitals.
You will be able to just sit and play lovely music in different styles, and you'll be able to improvise and compose freely. You will get music as your lifelong companion and every benefit that music brings into our lives!
I studied classical piano and took music as an academic subject throughout my
school years. I am immensely grateful for the learning and skills I developed during these
years. As can happen with many, my playing fell by the wayside in adult life. I went on to study
English Literature and Librarianship at university, now holding a Bachelor of Arts, a Master of
Arts (Hons), and a Master of Library and Information Studies.
A few years ago, I was able to get back to playing the piano and refresh much of my knowledge. In February 2020, I met the wonderful Katerina and discovered the Simply Music programme, which transformed my musical experience!
I loved the Simply Music programme so much that I became a Licensed Simply Music teacher in August 2020. I continue to work on my own musical development, and I take full advantage of all the professional development opportunities offered by the Simply Music organisation and community. Music is a lifelong endeavour!
I do not want to bother you with lots of details about my bio. The most important thing is that I am a positive, smiley person who loves music, loves teaching how to play the piano and loves to share this love and joy of music with people. I've had years of classical training and quite a few years of performing on the stage, however, it is not that important and relevant to you, is it? What I want for you and what I will help you with is to play the piano (both hands!) from the get go and enjoy it and yourself! =).
Lessons are available in-person and online via Zoom if required.
We prioritise shared lessons, which may be up to 50 mins in length.

consistent throughout the year, but are subject to change at the start of each new year.
Changes to the schedule may be permitted as space allows but cannot be guaranteed.
When you enrol in lessons, you are paying to secure a specific time, on a specific

under exceptional circumstances and at the teacher's discretion.
