About our piano lessons.

How much? What do you get in return?

How much does it cost?

Cost of lessons

We teach primarily in groups but some private lessons are available. Private lessons are $45 per lesson (30 min), shared lessons are $350 per term (one per week with 10 lessons in one term), group lessons are generally 40-50 minutes long. The Simply Music method has fantastic results in a group environment. Advantages include: it's cheaper, you become comfortable playing in front of others, you learn faster by observing what others are doing, you make new friends and it's more fun!

Student materials!

It is $35 per level of development for student home materials (SHM) once every 3 to 6 months, depending on your pace of learning. This is one of the best parts of Simply Music. You get to take video lessons with you wherever you go and watch as often as you need to really "fly" with the lesson's material. All you need is online access. That's why one lesson per week is enough to have a tremendous progress =)

What do you get in return?

What you get in return is just incredible! The results are amazing and they will speak for themselves! From the first lessons you start to play the piano with both hands. In just a few months you'll be playing about ten great-sounding pieces (contemporary, classical, gospel, blues). You'll be able to improvise and accompany yourself or others on the piano. While traditional learning is usually hard and takes at least two lessons per week (where one should be private) for good results, here you need only one and just 20 minutes of training most days of the week. So you'll end up saving money and time. Most of all, you'll feel at ease and you'll feel great about yourself because of your own achievements!
Take a look at one of the kids recitals.

You will be able to just sit and play lovely music in different styles, and you'll be able to improvise and compose freely. You will get music as your lifelong companion and every benefit that music brings into our lives!

Our Amazing Team

Meet our wonderful piano teachers

I studied classical piano and took music as an academic subject throughout my school years. I am immensely grateful for the learning and skills I developed during these years. As can happen with many, my playing fell by the wayside in adult life. I went on to study English Literature and Librarianship at university, now holding a Bachelor of Arts, a Master of Arts (Hons), and a Master of Library and Information Studies.
A few years ago, I was able to get back to playing the piano and refresh much of my knowledge. In February 2020, I met the wonderful Katerina and discovered the Simply Music programme, which transformed my musical experience!
I loved the Simply Music programme so much that I became a Licensed Simply Music teacher in August 2020. I continue to work on my own musical development, and I take full advantage of all the professional development opportunities offered by the Simply Music organisation and community. Music is a lifelong endeavour!

I do not want to bother you with lots of details about my bio. The most important thing is that I am a positive, smiley person who loves music, loves teaching how to play the piano and loves to share this love and joy of music with people. I've had years of classical training and quite a few years of performing on the stage, however, it is not that important and relevant to you, is it? What I want for you and what I will help you with is to play the piano (both hands!) from the get go and enjoy it and yourself! =).

Studio Policy

Lessons are available in-person and online via Zoom if required.
We prioritise shared lessons, which may be up to 50 mins in length.
Private lessons are 30 mins in length.

Lesson requirements

For children, a consistent parent or life coach must attend weekly lessons and support the student between lessons.
Please make arrangements for other children during the lesson so you may focus fully on the lesson.
Cell phones should be silenced and put away for the duration of the lesson.
Students must practice 20-30 mins a day as appropriate to their level, 5-6 days per week, supported by the parent or life coach.

Tuition, fees, and materials

Tuition is charged on a per term basis. Monthly payments can be arranged in consultation with the Studio.
Invoices are sent out a week ahead of the first lesson. Payment is due prior to the first lesson of the term.
Student Home Materials must be purchased at students.simplymusic.com and utilised as directed by your teacher.

Lesson schedule

Lessons will be scheduled in consultation with the teacher and will remain consistent throughout the year, but are subject to change at the start of each new year.
Changes to the schedule may be permitted as space allows but cannot be guaranteed.

Missed lessons, cancellations and discontinuing lessons

When you enrol in lessons, you are paying to secure a specific time, on a specific day. This is your session that you are paying for, and our time is set aside, for the entire period, exclusively for you. As such, classes missed for any reason cannot be credited, or made up, except under exceptional circumstances and at the teacher's discretion.
If we need to cancel a lesson for any reason, a make up or tuition credit will apply.
Please provide 30-days notice if you plan to discontinue. Regular tuition is due for the 30-day period.
